Mercat de Sant Josep

One of the criteria for us when finding a hotel was to be close to the fresh food market so that we can get the best breakfast in the morning. Matthew did an intensive search on the internet and found us the perfect hotel. It was right in the heart of Barcelona on La Rambla and 5 min walk to Mercat de Sant Josep. Our Spanish friends were confused why we wanted to stay in the area full of tourists - answer - because we are tourists!!

It was nice to be able to walk without bumping into people and in the fresh morning air (La Rambla reminds me of some parts of Osaka very much).





The market is tailored for both locals and tourists. You can get small portion of everything. They have fresh fruits, vegetables, seafoods, bread, cheese and of course wide variety of Jamon! (ham)





We found this little coffee bar. We had delicious coffee and little churros. Oliver was charming the ladies and got free piece of fresh bread for his breakfast. We do have a fresh food market in Brunei but it smells funny and is nothing like this. We surely enjoyed it - a fantastic way to start the day!
