This hotel has been getting an incredible amount of publicity in Japan. The first thing people talk about if I mention Singapore is Marina Bay Sands. Mako's family wasn't an exception and their
must do was staying at this famous hotel and try out the rooftop
swimming pool.
The hotel has three 57th floor towers with 2561 rooms. The whole complex is huge and also has:
-a huge shopping mall
-a museum
-two large theaters
-an ice skating rink
-a casino and more!
We heard the Club rooms are good value as you get complementary breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and snacks plus all-day non-alcoholic drinks at the restaurant 57 stories above the ground. Plus they guarantee you high level rooms somewhere above the 35th floor. So we booked two of these for us and Mako's family. When we checked in somehow we were upgraded to even
higher floor and to a
suite!!!
We didn't really know why or how we were chosen to be upgraded but the lady at the check in told Matthew one of the reasons was we have a very cute baby girl - Luca?!
Anyway we were overwhelmed and excited when we got to the room.
Our suite had only two bedrooms but the room features were the same as the
presidential suite. Two gorgeous en-suite bedrooms with a huge living room. There was a grand piano, gym, karaoke room, kitchen and even a massage room with a spa-table!

We felt like we should spend all afternoon there relaxing but we wanted to try the afternoon tea so headed up to the Skypark.
We were seated on the outside terrace with a wonderful sea view (our rooms were facing the city skyline). The food was lovely, great selection - something for everyone :)
Us parents wanted to enjoy the lovely breeze and afternoon tea forever but our kids couldn't wait any longer - they just wanted to jump into the pool. So that's what we did until the cocktail hour began.

The complementary cocktails and canapés were certainly great value. We had some champagne, wine, beer and spirits and the food was very good too :) The sunset from the 57th floor was amazing. Great atmosphere, great company, what else could we ask for!?
By the time we left the restaurant it was already dark.
In the evening we did some shopping in the mall attached to the hotel and had a look around the other parts of the complex.
There was a water and laser show which was supposed to be quite good but we were too tired and decided to see it from our living room.

The next day started reasonably early as the kids were so keen to go back to the pool after breakfast.
I think Luca enjoyed breakfast the most :)

The water was slightly cold so our boys had a nice warm up in the bubble bath afterwards:
We even got a late check out so had some extra time taking more photos:
We still had more things-to-do in the hotel complex. The adults wanted to do a little bit of gambling and the kids wanted to ice skate. My boys were too small to ice skate so just watched the older ones struggle!
Matthew took Mako and Goichi to the casino. It was supposed to be our evening event but we found out it closes at 10pm :( so had to go there in the afternoon. A bit weird feeling...

We had such an awesome time. We have some more visitors next month who would like us to stay there with them so we will be going back there very soon. It is certainly a destination/place to stay if you are coming to Singapore!
