Chinatown visit

Yesterday we checked out another tourist destination - Chinatown

It was a very hot day so I didn't want to just amble around the area so got my phone out and googled in Japanese - "what're the best things to do". It came up with a model plan for an afternoon so we picked the good bits and followed it.

We checked out Sri Mariamman Temple (having a Hindu temple in Chinatown is a bit odd):

The main event! Lunch at a popular Dim Sum house - Qun Zhong Eating House
It was just after 12pm but the place was already packed and we had to queue up for 20min.

Seafood gyoza and Shau lon pau were their speciality - so good! (photo taken by Oliver)

Then dessert time at Mei Heong Yuen - delicious mango kachang:

We actually carried on to little India but by the time we got there we were too full and exhausted from the heat, so we ended up just walking around for a short time and hopped onto a bus home.
Always good to leave something to do for the next time I guess!
